MANTP Requirements

Predoctoral slots: MANTP has five 2-year predoctoral training slots. These graduate students are generally in their third and fourth year of their PhD studies and can come from any graduate program working with MANTP faculty trainers. Predocs receive cross-disciplinary training to develop research skills, attain core competencies in nutrition and metabolism, and professional skills to prepare them for the spectrum of careers in nutrition-related sciences. One predoc slot is dedicated to training a PhD as an RDN.

Postdoctoral slots: MANTP has four 3-year postdoctoral training slots for PhD, MD, and MD/PhDs. Postdoctoral training emphasizes nutrition knowledge, research approaches, manuscript and grant writing, and career development. One postdoc slot is dedicated to training physician-scientists. MD trainees receive a minimum two-year program of research that is integrated with their residency training programs to impart the knowledge, skills, and experience required for successful careers as physician-scientists.
