Carolyn has a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. She enjoys spending her free time with her dog, cooking, and being overly competitive in any endurance-based sports (mostly running).
Our lab investigates the interplay of pharmacological interventions and exercise. A primary focus is on how rapamycin-mediated mTOR inhibition modulates whole-body metabolism, skeletal muscle physiology, and exercise performance. Recently, our lab has been exploring the role of endothelial-specific B-cell CLL/lymphoma 6 member B (BCL6B) in exercise response. Overall, our work aims to understand adaptations to metabolic stress and reveal targets for improving metabolic health.
